The Court of Death – Audio History

In the history of England, in the 18th Century, a most amazing thing occurred. Court was in session, and the prisoner was brought to the bar. But within ONE WEEK the Lord Mayor, 3 judges, 8 jurors and 40 clerks and spectators were DEAD. England called it… “The Court of Death”. Here is the odd and fascinating story of how a government-imposed tax on windows in households… led to this “Court of Death” 50 years later.

(Yes, it sounds pretty scary, but this is actually a great – though granted, somewhat creepy – science lesson about the causes of Typhus. It is “safe listening” for all ages.)
